The Patient Protection Commission is accepting applications from individuals interested in improving healthcare access, affordability, and quality in Nevada. Appointments are for two-year terms and are open to qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds who are committed to public service and improving the well-being of Nevadans.

Step 1: Review the Current Vacancy List

View open positions and eligibility requirements:

  • One member who represents a nonprofit public hospital located in the county that spends the most on indigent hospital care (per NRS Chapter 428)
  • One member who is a registered nurse practicing primarily at a nonprofit hospital
  • One member with expertise and experience advocating on behalf of patients
  • One member with expertise and experience advocating for individuals without health insurance
  • One member with expertise and experience advocating for persons with special health care needs, and who has education and experience in health care
  • One member who is a representative of the general public

Step 3: Review and Follow-Up

The Nevada Health Authority (NVHA) Director's Office will review all applications and may reach out for additional information. Selected candidates will be contracted regarding next steps in the appointment process.
